SERVANTS OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
Our Roots...
Our religious community finds its source in the faith of ST. PETER JULIAN EYMARD in the PERSONAL PRESENCE of JESUS CHRIST in the EUCHARIST. This profound faith led him on a long journey to his mission as founder of two Institutes: the Blessed Sacrament Fathers and Brothers, and THE SERVANTS OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT.
Faced with the challenges of his times, he grasped that the Eucharist should be placed at the center of Christian life. In 1858, Fr. Eymard summoned MARGUERITE GUILLOT to Paris. She would be his collaborator and the first Superior General of the Congregation of the Servants of the Blessed Sacrament.
At the heart of our life...
PRAYER LIFE.
The Celebration of the Eucharist is at the center of our personal and communal life. It is prolonged in the Liturgy of the Hours and in the prayer of adoration in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament exposed.
COMMUNITY LIFE.
The vitality of our communities depends a great deal on our coming together regularly to share our joys and sufferings. (R.O.L no.17)
APOSTOLIC LIFE.
Our daily work is an activity which unfolds the creator's plan and develops our creativity. It becomes a source of support, a service to the community. (R.O.L. no. 21. par.6) We want to be united with the same spirit of love which impelled Jesus to give himself as food, to seal the new covenant in his blood for the glory of the Father and the life of the world. (R.O.L. no. 2)
